SafeWork SA comes to whyalla to help safety reps

SafeWork SA (SWSA) travelled to Whyalla recently to speak with OneSteel Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) on their responsibilities and roles in the workplace.

SWSA HSR advisor Dakshu Jasti (picture below right and further below) was on-site in early December in 2025 to present to a group of 19 OneSteel Manufacturing Pty Ltd (Administrators Appointed) (OneSteel) HSRs at their December monthly committee meeting.

“The SafeWork SA presentation provided our HSRs with valuable clarity on the role of SafeWork SA inspectors, the responsibilities and functions of HSRs and the important focus on psychosocial safety,” Peter said.

“The insights shared were extremely well received and have already prompted positive discussion among our group of HSRs.”

Peter thanked the SWSA delegation that took the time to travel to Whyalla and present in person.
