Whyalla and everyone that works at the steelworks should be proud to see our high-quality rail supplied to a significant local project

Ashleigh Williams

OneSteel Head of Sales and Marketing Ashleigh Williams said the delivery of 500 tonnes of rail for this game-changing project was done with strict timelines and critical schedules.

“With the preparatory work required and the need to limit the amount of traffic disruption, we worked hand-in-hand with contractors to ensure the rail was delivered to various suburban sites across a number of weekend campaigns,” Ashleigh said.

“The timely delivery of the rail was vital to meet these critical deadlines and our teams, from production to procurement and transport logistics, came through to provide for this important State Government project.”

Ashleigh said the successful completion of this order showed the importance of the Whyalla Steelworks, Australia’s only producer of rail.

“Whyalla and everyone that works at the steelworks should be proud to see our high-quality rail supplied to a significant local project,” he said.

“This was another example of our ability to supply quality product to some of the most significant projects in our country.”
